Archive role
This page is a documentary profile of Poston as a place mentioned in family and newspaper records. It does not attempt to replace the broader narrative history at PostonSouthCarolina.com.
The strongest record held here is the October 26, 1916 newspaper notice tying the name of the Seaboard railroad junction to Andrew Poston.

Place-history boundary
The project treats the community’s history as older than the railroad name, with an earlier river-landscape associated with Ellison, Allison Landing, Ellison’s Landing and Poston Landing. The family archive is still assembling primary source material for that older locality.
