Documentary profile
An April 6, 1952 News and Courier report documents the marriage of Ruth West and Harold Chalmers Poston at The Citadel Chapel and states that the couple would make their home in Florence. Ruth West Poston’s 1976 obituary later identifies her husband as Harold C. Poston of Lake City.

Evidentiary limit
The contemporary notices establish the twentieth-century marriage and household context. They do not by themselves prove the complete earlier descent chain. The lineage chart supplies a research hypothesis that should be tested generation by generation.
